Shortly after their arrest, the pair were released on their own recognizance and FREE TO GO under Indiana’s new pretrial release program in Hamilton County – a pilot program set to go into effect statewide January 1st 2020. The program utilizes a “pretrial risk assessment tool” (a computer program) which determined that the pair were not a flight risk and should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

This release is yet another example of the thousands of unaccountable pretrial releases of criminal defendants under the pilot program.
